In 1997, the Ashland Community Development Corporation (ACDC) was established in the East Baltimore Community to provide community services in the following areas:
•Community Outreach – (4H Youth, Garden, Back-To-School, Food Distribution) Programs and much more. Community outreach will effectively enable the corporation to meet the needs of today’s vulnerable families living in Baltimore City. ACDC will partner with non-profit organizations and faith based institutions that are working to make Baltimore City a better place to live for all of its citizens, especially disadvantaged and low-income families.
•Re-Entry Program – Ex-offender job readiness support
•Health and Substance Abuse Seminars – Provide seminars for individuals and group counseling, to promote improved health and hygiene and to promote the prevention of alcohol and drug use. The corporation will provide these services with the intent of aiding in the community’s growth and investing in a better future for our children We'll utilize Group Counseling targeting AA and NA support.
•First Aid/CPR and Baby Sitting Certifications – to provide adult and child emergency safety training.
•Boot Camp Program – to promote and foster early childhood discipline and positive development.
